Report

by Adriano de'Lightly IV

After a shocking journey round a slow-moving South Circular in searing heat, we arrived just in time to lose the toss. Kingston opted to bat on what could be politely termed a 'variable' wicket.

However, we got off to a flying start with early KLHCC wickets falling to some good stuff from Robert, Nikhil and Graham, but their middle order steadied the ship and some big hitting in the later overs took them to a slightly flattering 235-7.

In reply, Chris and Roger made a solid start before the floaty nemesis from last year simply known as 'Dave' took an astonishing 6-20, with most of us holing out towards cow corner (guilty, m'lud) and despite some meaty blows late on from Paul and Matt, GRACC ended the day on 101 all out.

Still, it was a lovely afternoon in the Surbiton sunshine and we made it to the pub in time for the Brazil game, which was a bonus :)

Result

Kingston Lefthander CC: 235-7 (35.0 overs)

GRACC: 101 all out (27.2 overs)

KLHCC won by 134 runs

Man of the match: We all struggled but Chappers was miserly with the ball and had a damn good go with the bat, so Matt takes the prize this week.

Champagne Moment: Probably Robert's huge six (shortly before being run out...)

Comedy Moment: Did we mention the run out? Ooops.
